Home Offices

Home offices and libraries are one of our areas of specialty and can be as varied as our customer's lifestyle.  Our cabinetry can, and has, included bookcases, desks, computer areas, and display shelves.

The most important consideration for both the office and library is function.  A home office should be every bit as functional as the kitchen.  Several factors contribute to functionality.  Some of the more important factors are ergonomics, lighting, desk space, and overall layout.  The layout can depend on a wide variety of factors ranging from how frequently our customer intends to use the space, to whether the user is left or right handed.

When we design a home office or library for our customers we try to achieve a balance of many different factors to give them the best overall design for the space available and the use desired.
Home office for two A custom desk to match the bookcases built-in cabinetry to match an existing desk
Office cabinetry for two provides a face-to-face computer desk for collaborative work.  Contemporary cabinetry is made from hard maple, lightly stained and finished with a conversion varnish - and the look is topped off with a granite desktop.

The raised panel doors of this custom desk are highlighted with black applied trim.  The desk is all maple, stained and finished with conversion varnish. This desk completes a set of matching bookshelves lining the two adjacent walls.  The angled door-end allows for easy access to the interior space.

A corner computer desk is the focal point for this dramatic office cabinetry.  The two extended side sections have storage above and below the countertop, with lighting in the crown sections above and task lighting below the upper cabinets.  The cabinetry ends on each side have glass shelves incorporated into matching display cabinets.

A former closet becomes a niche for office cabinetry Custom cabinetry to fit an angled wall A computer area with storage and display space
What used to be a closet in this third bedroom has now become an office alcove with a desk, file & pencil drawers, and enclosed storage above.  This custom cabinetry matches the built-in entertainment center on the adjacent wall.

Formal library and display cabinetry is built along two angled walls and incorporates an electric fireplace.  The solid maple raised panel doors have maple appliques from Enkeboll  in a seashell pattern.

Washed white oak cabinetry in a traditional design matches the customer's existing free-standing desk.  The center point of the built-in cabinetry is a computer workspace with a pull-out keyboard tray in white oak.
