A striking corner cabinetry design
Staggered heights, depths, and widths add to the stately character of this built-in cabinetry that was inspired by the owner's antique free-standing desk.  The corner cabinet has closed storage behind arched raised panel doors, with a computer desktop below.  The mid-sections have cabinetry above with adjustable shelving, and a lighted display shelf below. Each base cabinet in this section contains three drawers and two lateral file drawers.  The angled end cabinets have glass shelves above for display, with closed storage below.  Fluted pilasters, crown molding with dentil block, and Enkeboll carved corbels (see photo below) are elements that enhance the traditional and formal style of the room.

Some of the other features of this cabinetry are:
  • Raised panel solid maple doors, square and half-arch style
  • Frameless style cabinets with concealed European hinges
  • All adjustable shelving (unless roll-outs and drawers)
  • Solid birch dovetail drawers
  • Blum® Tandem undermount drawer slides
  • Full extension file drawer slides rated to 100 lbs.
    for file drawers
  • 3/8" thick glass shelves with high polish front edges
    (end display cabinets)
  • Wood bordered glass shelves (middle cabinets)
  • Moldings in solid maple: crown, dentil molding, furniture base,
fluted vertical pilasters, and detail moldings
  • Carved corbels from Enkeboll
  • Halogen downlighting with antiqued brass trim
in the extended bookcase crown soffit
  • Touch switches for lights have a three-stage dimming function
  • Built-in concealed wire management in the desk kneespace
  • Inlaid granite desktop at computer space
  • Brass door and drawer pulls
The photo below shows the computer desktop area, which is made of inlaid granite with a stained wood border.  the desktop opens up behind the pilasters, providing more space for items such as a small screen TV and a Bose sound system.
